1965 Shelby GT350
This 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350 is one of only 36 R models built. Over the years, the track has taken it's toll, and today less than 25 are known to exist.
In 1965, Shelby American carefully crafted the ultimate performance Mustang designed to win in the 'B Production' class against Corvettes and XKE Jaguars. The R models enjoyed a stellar record. This Mustang Shelby has been fully restored without ruining the unique racing heritage. A log book is included with the purchase showing a racing history at Daytona, where it placed third, and at successful venues throughout the western US.
Under the fiberglass hood is a 'K' code engine, modified with a 715 cfm, 4 bbl carb sitting on top of a high rise intake manifold. Fabricated Tri Y headers feed dual side exhausts with glass pack mufflers. An aluminum case Borg Warner T-10 transmission, reinforced front A arms, rear axle trailing arms, and Koni shocks, big brakes and quick ratio steering made it a formidable competitor. To make it a '2 seater' under the 'B Production' homologation requirements, the rear seat was removed and a package shelf installed.
This 1965 Mustang Shelby GT350 R model is in world class condition and ready for the museum, or for the serious collector.
